Steve Pardoe's Bridestones Page

Bouldering at the Bridestones, January 2001

It was bitterly cold (-2°C), dull and misty, but the friction on this classic Yorkshire gritstone outcrop was as good as it gets

Steve wears a helmet when soloing HS's: this is The Groove (4b)

Dave testing the friction...

...happy bunny!

Knot to Knight? Not today for Dave, who has done it loads of times in the past, but was nursing a poorly knee. Steve fluked this 5a problem after Dave showed him what was needed

The line of Pleasant Wall (5a) on Little Brother, which we both got up after a couple of back-offs

Getting into The Groove...

...and out of it

A nice slab, climbed using feet only

Dave shows how Coffee (5b) is made

Steve tries...

..and gets it...

...but the boulders at Bridestones have teeth!

There's some more of the same at Woodhouse Scar.
