The meeting heard that the Acton Bridge WI Quiz Team came a creditable third in the first round of the County Quiz.

Members were told that the first new Weaver Vale Group Meeting on 16th May at 7.30pm at Frodsham Community Centre, will be a talk by Tricia Stewart, one of the original Calendar Girls. This meeting is open to WI Members , family and friends.

The main Acton Bridge WI fundraiser of the year is being held on Friday 23rd March at 7.00pm. The WI has organised a Quiz and Supper and welcome all members and friends to join us for what is always a very good social event.

Rosemary Mullett introduced the speaker, David James, who gave a talk entitled ' Industrial Wasteland, Wild Life Haven?'. This was the story of how Anderton Nature Park became the beautiful natural area that is enjoyed by so many. The WI members plan to visit the park for a guided ' Flower Spotting ' Tour in June or July.

The next meeting is on 10th April when Helen Carey OBE will give her talk on 'My Time as Chairman of NFWI'. This should be a very interesting talk and all women are welcome to attend.
