Steve & Judy Pardoe's Cervinia Page

Here are a few pictures from our happy week of skiing in Breuil-Cervinia in Italy, in March 2001.

Sorry about the quality, these have been re-photographed from colour prints.

We were staying at the Sertorelli Hotel as part of a package with Crystal. Rather than signing up for a week's ski-school, we opted to have a few private lessons at our own pace. This cost less, and worked better, than being in a gang of 12.

The picture [from a photo by Foto Furggen agency] shows us on the fast quad chair lift, which helpfully slows down for you to get on and off, and has a glazed cover.

Here we are again, posing in front of Monte Cervino (better known as the Matterhorn, and looking very different from the much harder, Italian side).

The ski pistes of Cervinia link to those above Zermatt in Switzerland, but the high lifts may close if it's windy, so it's quite easy to get stuck!

One reason we chose Cervinia was its excellent late snow record, and we weren't disappointed.

Does my bum look big in this?
Here's Judy, looking relaxed and happy after six days' skiing, whereas...

Check out those monster boots!
