1 Public Matters
No members of the public present.
2 Minutes
Minutes of the meeting held on 5th January 2009 were accepted and signed.
3. Matters Arising.
a) Home Safety. There has been no further information from Mr Thorley.
Action Clerk to contact Mr Thorley.
b) Pavilion. No further progress. Mr Heaton is trying to find new contacts.
c) Bus Shelter site. No progress.
Action Mr B Holt to contact Bartington Smithy.
d) Planters from VRBC for the village. The problem with the licence has been rectified and they have been planted up.
e) Dog litter boxes. VRBC have agreed to move one box. The one on the Station corner is to be moved to near the Hazel Pear Woods.
f) Footpath near Holly Tree Cottage. Letter has been sent to Mr Bolton thanking him for his prompt acknowledgment of the problem.
g) Network Rail. Reply received. They have still not remedied the situation as lorries are still using the weight- restricted roads and parking in very unsafe positions.

h) Mrs Bayley has spoken to London Midland concerning the rats along the railway. They have agreed to put poison down.
i) The Highways Dept to be contacted to ask who is responsible for the drainage on the bad corner on Cliff Rd. Water runs off the field and in the bad weather it freezes causing very hazardous conditions. Recently a motorcyclist had an accident on the corner and Police and an ambulance attended.
Action Clerk to check with Highways as to whose responsibility it is to see to drainage.
4. Planning Applications
CCC. Highways Act 1980. Proposed stopping up of highway land, Bartington Drive, Acton Quay, Dutton. Although this is not in Acton Bridge there are no objections to this plan.
CCC Notification that the application for the pipelines at King Street is going to appeal.

6. Authority for signing cheques and Financial Matters
Cheshire Building Society bank book has been returned and new signatures authorised.
Authorisation required for payment of
- Burial Committee £122.
- Clerks 3 months pay £270 and reimbursement of £25 paid to Local Councils Assoc.

8. Reports from other meetings
a) Cheshire West meeting Jan 28th. - Introduction to new arrangement.
b) Joint Burial Comm Discussion about new name for comm. and the new land is being developed.
c) Best Kept Station. Acton Bridge did not win. Mrs Bayley reported that they are hoping to go into partnership with London Midland.

10. Village Matters
a) Best Kept Village forms. Mrs Bayley to complete.
b) Train commuters held a get together at the Hazel Pear in connection with the new timetable. Mike Hall MP was invited. Photo to be published in the local Guardian.
c) Daffodils planted near the layby at Milton Rough have all been pulled up. The fence and milepost have been repainted.
d) Container at Nursery has been broken into again. The owners are putting in an application to sell farm produce.
e) E-mail received from Mrs Barber concerning speeding along Hill Top Rd - passed to Mr Hughes.
f) ABCA. Celebration is being planned for the centenary of the old part of the Parish Room.
