1 Public Matters
No members of the public present.
2 Minutes
Minutes of the meeting held on 6th October 2008 were accepted and signed.
3. Matters Arising.
a) Pavilion. Plans are still being pursued by ABCA.
b) Bus Shelter site. Mr Holt has contacted the Forge and was told that all the materials are ready .The site has been visited and they are waiting for a concrete cutter.
c) Speeding. The file is to be retrieved from S Critchley and passed to A Hughes.
d) Wind Farm. The appeal decision should have been published by now. Mr R Oultram reported to S Pardoe that the Inspectorate wanted to look at the Spatial report.
e) Acton Bridge has been awarded 'Best Improved Village'. Thanks were sent to Gordon Bayley for erecting the sign.
f) Planters from VRBC for the village. No news as yet.
g) Dog litter boxes. No news at moment.

h) Railway. Lead has been stolen off the chimney.
Action Mrs Bayley to progress.
i) Holly Tree Cottage Enforcement Officer to be contacted again as the Parish Council has received no papers from VRBC giving the applicants permission to extend.

j) Footpath near Holly Tree Cottage. Public Rights of Way dept have been contacted. They said that they would look into it.

k) Network Rail. It was suggested that a representative be requested to attend a Parish Council meeting.

l) White lines. A reply has been received and the Highways dept have said that they will be painted in 6-8 weeks time.
m) Cheshire Building Society has been contacted about the merger. They said that it would not affect the account held with them by the Parish Council.
n) Mr Hodgson has completed the 'Have your say' form.

6. Authority for signing cheques and Financial Matters
The Auditors have passed the Parish Council accounts for the year 07/08.
A Cheque required for Clerks pay for 3 months (£270).
2 new signatories required for withdrawals from the Cheshire Building Society.
H Bayley and J Oliver agreed to be the signatories
7. District Representatives Report
None.
8. Reports from other meetings
Cheshire Assoc of Local Councils meeting. S Pardoe and A Hughes attended the meeting. Mr Hughes motion concerning railway timetables was carried.
Mr Pardoe attended the Weaverham & Acton Bridge Trust meeting.
Burial Comm meeting was attended by D Evans. The new chairman is J Freeman and Mr Evans is vice-chairmen.

10. Village Matters
Due to Mr Critchley wishing to resign from the PC there is a Vacancy for a Parish Councillor. Mr Oliver has offered to replace him on the Burial Comm and A Hughes will take over the speeding contacts.
11. Any other business
a) A load of soil has been dumped on the lay-by at Milton Rough.
b) A tree has been offered to Acton Bridge by the organisers of 'The Best Kept Village'. It was suggested that the tree be planted on a spare patch of land on Cliff Rd opposite Yewtree Farm.
c) The Soup & Sandwich event organised by the WI was successful.
d) It has been reported that there are some bogus roofing contractors going around the village.
12. The next meeting will be on 1st December 2008 at 7.30pm
