1. Public Matters
One member of the public present.
2. Minutes
Minutes of meeting held on 4th September were accepted & signed.
3. Matters Arising.
a) Wind Farm, Aston Grange. Mr S Pardoe attended a meeting that was held in Frodsham on 29th Sept. The site and neighbouring villages were visited. Tegni spoke at the meeting followed by the opposition. VRBC appear to be favouring the plan. A planning meeting is to be held on 3rd Oct and Mr Pardoe will speak at the meeting opposing the plan.
b) There is still one more vacancy to be filled for the position of Parish Councillor.
c) Letter received from Mr R Brooks, CCC Highways Dept. A list of work required in the village will be drawn up and then a meeting arranged with Mr Brooks.
d) Best Kept Village. Winners were announced on 28th Sept at Knutsford. Mrs Bayley and Mrs J Pardoe, WI attended. Acton Bridge has come 4th in the competition.
e) Fence -Strawberry Lane. Enforcement Officer has been contacted and she has forwarded the problem. to VRBC Legal Dept.
f) Bus Shelter. Cheshire County Council to be contacted to see if ABPC have any say in the design of the shelter if they were to take up their scheme. Mrs Bayley is still looking into bus services.
g) Boxes for waste plastics. Letter received from VRBC. No prospects of boxes as yet.
h) A meeting was held with Richard Chadwick, H&S, Central Trains. A bigger working party is needed before Acton Bridge adopt the railway station.
i) Pear Festival held by ABCA was very successful.
j) Weaverham and Acton Bridge Trust meeting was cancelled. Next meeting is on 2nd November.
k) Nursery, Station Rd has closed.
4. Planning Applications
a) Change of use of former agricultural buildings to Class B1 (renewal of unexpired permission APP/2001/0542) for Mr Woodward. No objections.
b) Erection of 2 storey extn to existing farmhouse to replace existing single storey covered way, for Mr & Mrs Hayward. No objections
5. Planning Decisions
30 Cliff Rd - Single storey rear extn For Mr & Mrs Gardiner, permitted by VRBC
6. Authority for signing cheques and Financial Matters
Hacker Young (Auditors) report received. Acton Bridge has been given a clean report.
Second precept (£900) has been deposited in Cheshire Building Society by VRBC.
Cheque of £58.75 for Hacker Young.
£50 Petty cash.

10. Village Matters
a) Mrs H Bayley is applying for grant for a bench for the village.
b) Playing field, Chapel Lane-grass requires cutting.
11. Any other business
Burial committee. Queries ongoing as to who owns the Burial Ground and who is responsible as to how it is run.
12. Next meeting will be held on Monday 6th November 2006 at 7.30pm.
