ACTON BRIDGE PARISH COUNCIL

Minutes of the meeting held on Monday 9th January 2006 at 7.30pm

Apologies for absence were received from S Pardoe,H Bayley and Councillor A Hooker.

1. Public Matters

No members of the public present.

2. Minutes

Minutes of meeting held on 5th December were accepted & signed.

3. Matters Arising.

a) Wind Farm Aston Grange - No planning date set as yet. VRBC has only recently commissioned a London firm to review Tegni's submissions from a landscape point.
b) A49 Safety - Richard Flood, Highways Dept is to be invited to attend the March meeting.
c) Chris Burnham, Road Liaison Officer, Western Division, Police is to be requested to meet Parish Councillors on 18th January at 10.00am concerning speeding problems.

4. Planning Applications

a) 10 Orchard Ave Conservatory at rear for Mr & Mrs E Newsham - Approval has already been given by VRBC.
b) 68 Cliff Rd Conservatory/utility room to rear for Mr M Latham - No objections.

5. Planning Decisions

a) Flushing Meadows Extension to straw barn for Mr Woodward - Permitted by VRBC
b) 10 Orchard Ave Conservatory - Agreed by VRBC
c) 8 Cliff Rd Granny flat for Mr Fishwick - Refused by VRBC

6. Authority for signing cheques and Financial Matters

None

7. District Representatives Report

None

8. Reports from other meetings

Town & Parish Councils meeting attended by N Tappin. Sup't J Jackson spoke for 2 hours about the re-organisation of the Police. They would prefer Cheshire and Merseyside. They have the third lowest precept in the country. 250 new support officers are to be recruited. Weaverham clerk to be asked how they acquired a support officer.

9. Correspondence

a) Police Forum 18. January at Frodsham.
b) Street furniture - benches - VRBC would like to know of benches in the village.
c) Rural Regeneration - Fresh local food co-ops in Cheshire. Form to be completed.
d) Cheshire Police. Draft Policing objectives 2006/07.
e) Cheshire Assoc Newsletter.
f) CCC Annual Town & Parish Councils Conf. 8th February. Tenants Hall, Tatton Park.
g) NHS Consultation on organizational (boundary) changes to Ambulance services NHS Trusts in NW England.
h) Standards of Conduct in English local Government: The future.

10. Village Matters

a) Precept - A table has been prepared of last year's outgoings and estimated outgoings for 2006/07 - This was discussed and it was decided to keep the precept as last years, ie £1,800. It was thought that the balance was sufficient to cover eventualities. b) Street light, Acton Lane is continually going on & off. This is to be reported to the appropriate Dept at VRBC.

11. Any other business

Mr K Worrall reported that he will be moving out of the village very soon. When he moves he will resign.

12. Next meeting will be held on Monday 6th February 2006 at 7.30pm.
