ACTON BRIDGE PARISH COUNCIL

Minutes of the meeting held on Monday 10th January at 7.30pm

Apologies for absence were received from Cllr N Dolphin.

1. Public Matters

No members of the public present.

2. Minutes

Minutes of meeting held on 6th December were accepted & signed as a correct record.

2a. Substation Progress

It is not certain if Network rail and National Grid have 3 or 6 months to appeal.
Glen Gidley is to find out how long they have. Glen Gidley phoned the clerk offering SAG thanks for the letter from ABPC assuring the group of the Parish Councils continuing support.
Steve Pardoe thanked the Council for the floral arrangement.

3. Matters Arising.

a) Cheshire Railings - Nora Dolphin phoned the Clerk informing the Clerk that Roger Stanway was holding a meeting that week about Cheshire railings. The Parish Council decided that letters should be sent to both Roger Stanway and Steve Bakewell to ask for some definite information on dates.
b) Speed Guns - It was decided that another attempt should be made to have speed guns in Acton Bridge. A letter to be sent again to the Police.
c) Waste bins - People are still leaving waste bins out. A note requesting people not to leave bins on the pavement will be in the next issue of ABCA News.
d) Junction, Hazel Pear Pub. Steve Pardoe has checked all previous correspondence and it was decided that nothing can be done about this issue for at the moment.
e) Milton Rough grass verges - No progress.
f) Flower beds outside Parish Rooms - M Hodgson to check with Nursery to see if they are still interested.
g) Letter has been sent to Eileen Burrows thanking her for representing Acton Bridge as Governor at Weaverham School.
h) Hole outside house in Strawberry lane has been filled in.
i) Strawberry Farm - check with Enforcement Officer.

4. Planning Applications

a) 24 Cliff Rd - Mr & Mrs S Watson - Withdrawn.
b) Milton Heyes, Sandfield Lane - Date extension. No objections.

5. Planning Decisions

a) Conservatory, 34 Milton Rough - permitted by VRBC
b) 19 Hill Top Rd - permitted by VRBC

6. Authority for signing cheques and Financial Matters

Precept Table of expenditure was prepared and distributed with minutes. After a discussion it was decided to keep the Precept as the previous year, ie £1,800
Funds stand at the moment as:-
National Savings Bank £734.70
Cheshire Building Society £1579.33
The Clerk's salary will be discussed at the next meeting.

9. Correspondence

a) Acknowledgement from the Police of letter about men with guns having been seen in the village at night.
b) CCC Temporary road closure A49 Cuddington. Due to re-surfacing.
c) CCC Temporary road closure A533 Runcorn Rd Barnton and C618 Barnton /Anderton.
d) VRBC Brochure. Buildings at Risk.
e) VRBC Annual Report.
f) CCC Annual Town & Parish Councils Conference. 3 Feb at Nantwich. No one able to attend.

10. Village Matters

a) Street lighting. Strawberry Lane - light required at end of lane. Inquiry to be made into Standards for rural street lighting.
b) Morton Hodgson suggested sponsoring a community that has suffered by the Tsunami. To be discussed at next meeting.
c) Posts outside Parish Rooms are broken.

11. Any other business

None

12. Next meeting will be held on Monday 7th February 2005 at 7.30pm.
